Queen Latifah Scheduled to Perform at LGBT Festival

Queen Latifah is slated to headline the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival this month.  This will be the first time that a well-known rapper has headlined an event of this type.

This is what Pat Crosby, Co-President of the Long Beach Pride Festival, had to say about Queen Latifah’s inclusion in the festivities:

“From Hip-Hop to R&B, Pop to standards, Queen Latifah is the voice of our generation and her concert here will be phenomenal.  For her to make her worldwide Pride debut here in Long Beach is a tremendous testament to the popularity of our celebration and the strength of our community.”

The festival will consist of workshops, panels, and performances throughout the whole weekend.  Queen Latifah is scheduled to perform at the festival on on Saturday, May 19th at 8:30 p.m.

Azealia Banks Cancels Some European Performance Dates

Azealia Banks was scheduled to make several stops at various festivals throughout Europe this summer.  However, Ms. Banks has changed her plans.  Her management released a statement announcing the changes:

“Azealia Banks will be performing at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekender and Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer, but has unfortunately had to cancel her remaining UK festival appearances due to recording commitments. Her October UK headline tour will still go ahead as scheduled.”
