Remember a few weeks back, Rah Digga addressed her issue with disses aimed at her and MC Lyte from Tyler, The Creator (and Fat Trel). I reported that she subsequently squashed the issue with Tyler at the Paid Dues Festival in California. In his recent posting entitled “Where My Ladies At? The Mystery of the Missing Female OGs,” DJ Louie XIV explores what he believes is the lack of presence of the female musical OG in the hip-hop/rap industry.
Well, if this isn’t surprising! Ms. Hill recently announced she is working on her sophomore album, The Return, which is step to release sometime this year. It is rumored that she will be hosting a listening party for the release next month. Also, she is set to perform next month at the Indig02 in London on April 14. I’m definitely interested to hear what she will put together given she has been in and out of the music scene for the past several years.
MC Lyte recently responded to a line one of Tyler, The Creator’s recent songs in which he implies that she is a lesbian.
Tyler, The Creator, a member of the Odd Future crew, raps on “Rella,” “Let’s get it poppin’ like MC Lyte around some dykes.”

Queen Latifah is slated to star in the Lifetime remake of “Steel Magnolias. According to deadline.com, the film will be ”updated, contemporary TV adaptation of the play and 1989 film.”
Latifah also executive produce the film along with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
While hanging out at The Breeding Ground in Austin, TX during SXSW, Timbaland debuted a new song featuring Missy Elliott. Can’t wait to hear this again once it is officially released!
