Nicki Minaj to Perform at MTV’s 2012 Video Music Awards

MTV recently announced that Nicki Minaj is slated to perform at the 2012 Video Music Awards, which airs live on September 6th.  Lil Wayne, 2Chainz, and A$AP Rocky are now slated to perform as well.

It is rumored that Nicki Minaj will be performing with 2Chainz, while Lil Wayne will be performing “No Worries” from his new Dedication 4 mixtape and A$AP Rocky will be performing the “Cockiness” remix with Rihanna.

Nitty Scott, MC to Host EP Release Party

In celebration of the release of her debut EP, The Boombox Diaries, Vol. 1, Nitty Scott, MC will be hosting a release party this Saturday at 285 Kent in Brooklyn, NY.  Nitty plans to perform and will feature djing from Distrolord, Large Professor, and the Audible Doctor.

Rye Rye to Perform During the Damon Albarn’s Africa Express Tour

Baltimore’s Rye Rye is slated to perform during the Damon Albarn’s Africa Express Tour next month in England.  This tour consists traveling by train and performing impromtu gigs in railway stations in addition to performing at traditional venues.  It’s interesting that this tour is called the African Express, but it’s not being performed in Africa.  Please see below for tour locations and dates:

Nicki Minaj Announces Free Concert

Yesterday, Nicki Minaj announced that she will be having a free concert on August 14th.  The concert is rumored to take place at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City and will be sponsored by Pepsi.

This concert is Nicki’s way of canceling her appearance at the Hot 97′s Summer Jam due to issues with Peter Rosenberg.

Per Nicki’s website, the first 1,500 fans that are in line at the venue beginning at 12PM on the show’s date will receive tickets.

Additionally, Pepsi will stream the concert live on their website and on Minaj’s Twitter page.
