Nicki Minaj Nominated for Four American Music Awards
The American Music Awards recently announced that it has nominated Nicki Minaj for four of its awards. Ms. Minaj has been nominated for the following categories: Best Pop/Rock Artist; Best Pop/Rock Album; Best Hip Hop Artist; and, Best Hip Hop Album. The show is scheduled to air at November 18th at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
Salt-N-Pepa To Be Inducted Into Long Island Music Hall Of Fame
Salt-N-Pepa will be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame this year along with Whodini. The event is scheduled to take place at the Paramount Theater in Huntington, New York.
Tim Needham, Vice President of Long Island Music Hall Of Fame, had this to say about the trio:
“The Long Island Music Hall is very proud to be one of the first museums to recognize the enormous contributions of Salt-N-Pepa to Hip Hop history. Salt N Pepa had remarkable commercial success as females in male-dominated art form, and showed the world that Rap stars could also make it on the Pop charts.”
MC Lyte To Host HipHop 4 Life’s Annual Youth Fest
MC Lyte has been selected to host HipHop 4 Life’s Annual Youth Fest next month at John Jay College in New York from 9:30 AM – 4:00.
The event is designed to help 12-18 year-old’s build self-esteem and leadership skills. The event’s theme is Don’t Pressure Me… Respect Me!: Combating Bullying.”
Youth Fest will feature an activity fair, parent workshops, performances and entertainment.

Nicki Minaj Promotes “Pink Friday” Fragrance
Nicki Minaj has released the promotional ads for her signature fragrance, “Pink Friday.” Nicki describes the fragrance as “a celebration of my life at this moment; it is a reflection of me as a creator, and an expression of me as a woman.” The scent is a mixture of juicy fruits, creamy vanilla, and sensual musks. “Pink Friday” is available at Macy’s, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, and other department stores.
Lauryn Hill and Nas Co-Headline “Life Is Good/Black Rage” Tour Together

Missy Elliott and Nicki Minaj have both received 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations.
Missy Elliott has received a nomination under the “Reese’s Perfect Combo” category for her collaborative record, “Nobody’s Perfect,” with J. Cole. Nicki received her nomination for best hip hop style under the “Made You Look” category.
The 7th annual BET Hip Hop Awards will air on October 7th with hosting by Mike Epps.
